A recent survey of thousands of home shoppers born in the 1940s and 1950s shows a gap between what the two generations expect from retirement housing.
The generation born in the ’40s named golf cart trails linked for easy access as its top preferences for parks, according to the survey. For those born in the ’50s, golf cart trails fell to third, passed by top-ranked dog parks and personal organic gardens. The survey also found a drop in interest in pickleball and bocce ball from the older to younger generation along with a bump for tennis and basketball courts.
I don’t take my dogs to the Dog Park or the City Park is because that’s where they get all their fleas and ticks. Count me out!
Right on! Most of us can’t play anymore but we really love our pets and walking.
My friends and I want golf, tennis, pickleball and hiking trails! We want pet friendly, but not necessarily dog parks for the reason mentioned in another’s comment. Texas is behind in creating active communities.
